Beverly Hills Cigar Club DQs IOC for Slap Shot at Olympians

Canada's Meghan Agosta and Jayna Hefford share a light for their cigars after Canada beat USA 2-0 to win the women's gold medal ice hockey game at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010.
Beverly Hills Cigar Club CEO Vin Lee decried the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for suggesting an “investigation” of the conduct of the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team members for celebrating their gold medal win at the Olympic Games in Vancouver with champagne and a cigar in the stadium, after fans had vacated. ”Every other sport — from the Stanley Cup, the World Cup of Soccer, NASCAR to the Super Bowl — supports celebrating victories with a bottle of champagne and a great cigar,” points out Lee. “The moment is emotional; in the case of the Olympics, it often is the reward of years of hard work and sacrifice. The Canadian Women’s Hockey Team should not be chastised for wanting to mark their victory on the ice. They are national heroes.”
